Q. Where are you located?
A. We are located in Lombard, close to the intersection of I-88 and I-355, off of Butterfield Road. Check the “contact page” for the exact address.
Q. What are your hours?
A. Hours are by appointment. Unless otherwise listed.
Q. Can parents watch?
A. Yes, parents are welcome to watch their child on the ice.
Q. Can I bring my own coach to work with my child?
A. Yes, you may bring your own coach or utilize one of our in-house coaches for a small fee.
Q. I am a coach of a youth hockey team. Can I bring my team to your facility?
A. Yes, we encourage coaches to utilize the facility! Please call for pricing.
Q. I usually coach privates at stick and puck, can I use your facility?
A. Yes, we welcome you to bring your students, please contact us for discount plans.
Q. Is it real ice?
A. No, it’s synthetic ice that you can skate on, stick handle, and pass as if it was real ice, however there is a little resistance compared to real ice, which we feel will help in the training process.
Q. Does the synthetic ice dull my child’s skates?
A. Yes, it does, however we have a skate sharpening service in house.
Q. Do you sharpen skates there?
A. Yes! A skate sharpening service is on location. Cost is $5.
Q. What does my child need to bring?
A. Bring skates, sticks, gloves, and a helmet. A water bottle if your child would like as well.
Q. How will the Hockey Shooting Lab benefit me or my child?
A. At the Hockey Shooting Lab we focus strictly on shooting, passing, and stick handling. The time spent is 100% tailored to what is needed to improve stick skills, not on skating running systems, or common practice drills.
Q. What is different between The Hockey Shooting Lab and a team practice?
A. A team practice is an hour long and focuses on different drills covering many different aspects of the game. However, the fundamentals or breakdown down of a pass or a shot doesn’t happen due to time constraints. At the Hockey Shooting Lab we will utilize the time to focus on the skills and fundamentals of shooting, passing, and stick handling.
